Learning Technology Coordinator and Teacher of ICT/Computer Science
Rotterdam International Secondary School (RISS) is looking to recruit a passionate, dynamic and knowledgeable Learning Technology Coordinator who can also work as a Teacher of ICT/Computer Science (1.0 fte) to start in August 2026. The candidate should be able to lead and support staff in engaging with learning technology in a school setting, and also deliver whole-class lessons within the international educational sector to Foundation (KS3) range up to IGCSE Computer Science. We are looking for a committed, innovative practitioner to deliver within an inquiry-based approach.
Important: Any candidate who applies should have a relevant teaching qualification, which would enable them to obtain their DUO recognition of any non-Dutch professional qualification.
The candidate should:
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and up-to-date pedagogy in ICT and Computer Science.
- Plan and deliver high-quality, well-structured lessons which engage students and support achievement in line with the school’s curriculum and assessment plans.
- Update and implement a scope and sequence for ICT/Computer Science across the school.
- Promote digital literacy, online safety, and innovative use of technology across the curriculum.
Specifics to the role of Learning Technology Coordinator include:
- Research, review and advise on a range of digital learning products, materials and tools, from conception to smooth implementation in consultation with the Leadership Team
- Lead the learning technology provision at both campuses to ensure the school is up to date in its IT service provision. Updates, maintenance and installation requirements will be communicated to and executed by the IT Technician.
- Handle IT provision requests from teachers by researching, conducting feasibility studies and implementing the findings. For example: new online tools, new hardware, new apps, etc.
- Maintain awareness of new learning technology trends, courses and methods to discuss with staff.
- Develop and implement a vision for the consistent and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence in the school.
- Coaching of teachers in the classroom using existing and new technologies.
- Engage in research on new technological tools which can be incorporated at RISS.
- Provide training to new staff members on the technological tools used at RISS.
- Work closely with Curriculum Departments and subject teachers to ensure students' continuous development of IT skills throughout the school.
- Review and update the school’s Learning Technology Plan and Acceptable Use of Technology policies.
- Maintain and update the school’s website.
- Be involved in the school's timetabling process.
