Theatre Arts Programme Symposium

From 7th - 14th October, IB Theatre students here at RISS are going to have the opportunity to take part in the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) TaPS online (Theatre Arts Programme Symposium). This online experience engages the students with the philosophy of the DP Theatre course and its assessment tasks through practical, interactive workshops and masterclasses.

Sessions will be led by Fenella Kelly, an international drama specialist, teacher, teacher trainer and dancer. Students will learn how to lead workshops on world theatre traditions, direct each other in scripted performances, watch and comment on recorded 'live' theatre, take part in a master class on African dance and movement and devise collaborative theatre over the course of the sessions, presenting what they have learned and their experiences as they go along.

This is a unique opportunity for our IB Theatre students to immerse themselves in the discipline and learn from leading artists in their field.  We hope this will foster a lifetime of enjoyment and engagement with the Arts and we look forward to sharing with you photos of the experience.
